About Pan

“The Brushes that Dance with Joy” was the title of a review of my first show of paintings in London (1983) and I could not have been more pleased with this interpretation of the work since it reflected precisely my intention.

Art, for me, is celebration. Celebration of life in general and the human form in particular. In Tibetan Tantra the human body and its parts, are regarded as some of the highest “Yantras” (spiritual symbols or images) and I, too, believe that it contains more wisdom and mystery than we have begun to comprehend.

My desire to delve deeper into this mystery has resulted in the human body becoming my main subject for painting - possibly the most difficult, yet the most satisfying.

We are evolving beings, unlimited in our potential, and I like to convey something of this in my art, as well as the joy and ecstasy of living, toward which I am moving more and more. It is my intention to express the synthesis of the etherial and physical, a synthesis that I feel deeply familiar with in a rather intangible way.

I live in view of the beautiful and magnificent Mount Shasta which is a constant inspiration.
